Phillies Injury Updates: Phillies Manager Rob Thomson Issues a Shocking and Unexpected  Ranger Suárez Injury Update After Wednesday Session With Team Physicians

Ranger Suárez (left-hand contusion)
Status: Active.
Rob Thomson said Suárez played catch on Tuesday, after telling media he was unlikely to be placed on the disabled list on Monday. He’s slated to throw a bullpen session on Wednesday, according to Thomson. “It looks good so far,” Thomson remarked. Thomson also stated that Suárez’s bullpen session will determine whether he starts Saturday’s game. (Updated by Bailey Digh on June 4).

Trea Turner (left hamstring strain).
Status: Ten-day injury list.
Turner was placed on the 10-day disabled list for a left hamstring injury on May 4. He declined to say what grade the strain is, but said he expects to be off “six weeks or so.”

Yunior Marte (inflammation of the right shoulder).

Status: The 15-day injury list is retroactive to May 1.
Marte “felt a little something” during his scoreless outing against the San Diego Padres on April 28, Thomson said. After the feeling subsided, it “flared up” during his outing against the Los Angeles Angels on April 30. He wasn’t available for the last game of the Angels series and was eventually placed on the injured list on May 3.
On May 25, Marte began his rehab assignment with Triple-A Lehigh Valley. He worked one inning, allowing two hits and an unearned run on 15 pitches.
Marte is still in Triple-A Lehigh Valley. Thomson is expected to pitch one inning on Tuesday, another on Thursday, and two on Sunday. (Edited by Bailey Digh on June 4).
Luis Ortiz (right shoulder inflammation)
Status: 15-day injury list.

Ortiz has been on the disabled list since March 31 due to a sprained left ankle. He has recovered from the injury, making two rehab appearances for Single-A Clearwater. However, the most recent occurred on April 25. This is due to a period of inactivity caused by right shoulder inflammation.
Ortiz had a bullpen session on Tuesday, according to Thomson. (Edited by Bailey Digh on June 4).
Michael Rucker (right-hand arterial vasospasm).
Status: 60-day injury list.
Rucker threw a bullpen session on May 14 and is scheduled to throw another on May 17.
Rucker was moved from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day disabled list on June 3. (Edited by Bailey Digh on June 4).
