Sean Longstaff and Dan Burn, both lifelong Newcastle fans, took part in a fantastic post-match interview with CBS Sports following their Champions League heroics.
Eddie Howe’s side defied the odds to defeat Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain 4-1 on a spectacular Wednesday night on Tyneside.
The Magpies took an early lead when a wayward ball fell to Miguel Almiron’s foot, who tapped past Gianluigi Donnarumma after a sloppy Marquinhos pass.
And, with St James’ Park shaking as it hosted a Champions League match for the first time in 20 years, lifelong Newcastle fan Dan Burn made it two with a thunderous header.
However, the 31-year-old defender, who began his youth career at Newcastle before moving on to spells in the Football League with Yeovil, Birmingham, and Wigan, had to wait a minute.
VAR took its time deciding whether it was a goal or not as officials assessed Bruno Guimaraes’ positioning before crossing the ball, but the goal was eventually awarded.
Soon after, Sean Longstaff, another die-hard Toon fan, scored to make it three and put the game to bed.
Longstaff and Burn joined Kate Abdo, Micah Richards, Jamie Carragher, and Peter Schmeichel on CBS Sports’ popular post-match broadcast after the final whistle.

Burn made an amusing comment in January after performing the dance motion following Newcastle’s Carabao Cup triumph against Leicester.
“I didn’t score for two years the last time I did a dance like that.” So I’m hoping it won’t be the same again,” he told Sky Sports.
