SAINT NEWS: Saint 5-Time Pro Bowler Slapped With Harsh Trade Reality Amid Contract Dispute

Alvin Kamara, the New Orleans Saints standout, wants to be compensated. So much so that the five-time Pro Bowl running back opted to leave his team during their just finished minicamp to make a point.

While Kamara remains one of the most essential players on the club heading into the new season, the 28-year-old has been warned against taking on more than he can handle.

New Orleans Saints are urged to trade Alvin Kamara
You can’t really blame Kamara for demanding the money he believes he deserves. After all, holdouts have become routine in the NFL in recent years, and most of the time, the players benefit from taking this significant risk. However, this does not always happen.

According to Matt Holder of Bleacher Report, the Saints should call Kamara’s bluff and look into trading for the former offensive Rookie of the Year.

“Kamara departed obligatory minicamp early due to a contract issue, and he’s reportedly attempting to restructure his deal for more guaranteed money next season. The problem is that the running back has missed multiple games in recent years and is no longer the same player he once was as he approaches 30 years old.

“New Orleans should explore the five-time Pro Bowler’s trade market and see what it can get for him as it’s looking like his tenure in The Big Easy is coming to a close soon anyway,” Holder stated in a statement.
That’s difficult to hear for an established player like Kamara, who has just made five consecutive Pro Bowl selections in the last two years. However, such is the harsh fact of life in the NFL, and it appears that his time in New Orleans may be coming to a close.
