Brentford are determined to keep talisman Ivan Toney beyond the January transfer window, according to Football Insider sources.

Toney has been heavily linked with Arsenal, but Newcastle are not considered to be interested.
Newcastle will target a younger striker signing in the January window, according to Football Insider, with club officials looking to acquire someone capable of developing under Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson.

According to a reliable source, Brentford will seek for close to £100 million for Toney in January as speculation about his future grows.

be far more likely in the summer of 2024, when he will only have 12 months left on his contract.

Toney’s lack of football in the 2023-24 season could be a saving grace for Thomas Frank’s side, as it may deter potential suitors.
Last season, the ex-Peterborough forward scored 21 goals and provided five assists in 35 games across all competitions, including a best-ever Premier League return of 20 goals.

Brentford have struggled for form in Toney’s absence, sitting 14th in the table with seven points after seven games.
