OFFICIAL DONE DEAL: Padres Have Officially Completed the Signing of RHP from MLB Former Champions In a Blockbuster Trade

The San Diego Padres acquired right-handed reliever Jason Adam from the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday for three prospects.

The Rays acquired Dylan Lesko, Homer Bush Jr., and J.D. Gonzalez. MLB.com placed Lesko, Bush, and Gonzalez as the Padres’ top three, eight, and twelve prospects, respectively.Rays keep dealing, trade reliever Jason Adam to Padres

Glenn Otto, the Padres’ right-hander, was designated for assignment to make place for Adam.
Adam, 32, is 4-2 with four saves and a 2.49 ERA in 47 bullpen appearances this season. In 249 career bullpen appearances, he is 16-11 with 24 saves and a 3.07 ERA for the Kansas City Royals (2018), Toronto Blue Jays (2019), Chicago Cubs (2020-21), and Rays.

 

Lesko, 20, was the 15th overall pick in the 2022 MLB draft. He is 1-9 with a 6.46 ERA in 16 games (all starts) with High-A Fort Wayne.

Bush, 22, also plays for the TinCaps. He is batting.272 with four home runs and 17 RBIs in 86 games.

Gonzalez, 18, is hitting.In 48 games with Single-A Lake Elsinore, 205 hits and 31 RBIs were recorded.
