Vanasco, formerly a top prospect in the Rangers organization, had Tommy John surgery in 2020, missed all of 2021, and underwent knee surgery in 2023. Despite these setbacks, he has demonstrated promise in Triple-A this season, posting a 3.47 ERA and a 24% strikeout rate. However, command concerns have plagued him since surgery, as seen by his 19% walk rate this season in Triple-A.
