JUST IN: Coventry City boss Mark Robins sends Clear message to loan star amid the arrival of Liam Kitching

Luis Binks could be excused for questioning his decision to join Coventry City on loan from Italian club Bologna this summer.

Following the return of last season’s outstanding loan combination Callum Doyle and Jonathan Panzo, the highly-rated 22-year-old joined the Sky Blues last month to assist cover the left central defense slot. Joel Latibeaudiere, came in from Swansea to compete on the right, has started the season to the left of center figure Kyle McFadzean and swiftly established himself in the back three, leaving Binks on the bench.

Mark Robins then spent about £4.5 million for Barnsley captain Liam Kitching, a ready-made left-footed centre-half with Championship experience, on transfer deadline day.

“Luis hasn’t played yet, and I’m sure he’ll be wondering, ‘What’s going on?,’ but he shouldn’t since there will be plenty of opportunities for everyone,” said the City manager, who encouraged competition between Doyle and Panzo, who shared the position last season.

“We did the same thing with Panz and Doyler last year, and things started to work themselves out.” Luis simply needs to be patient and avoid becoming frustrated, as this will have an effect and cause him to take longer. But, without a doubt, he’s a pretty good player who will be pounding on the door.”

“We’ve gotten to this first international break, and we know what the squad is going to be, and we have to try to be the best we can be, which will just take a little bit of time,” he continued.
