The #Lions are releasing QB Nate Sudfeld, who has spent a lot of time as the No. 2 quarterback. Now it appears like Hendon Hooker has won the position.

Sudfeld has impressed in practice (despite limited game experience) and will at the very least make the practice squad.

Sudfeld’s dismissal elicited varied emotions from Detroit fans, with some preferring Hooker and others believing Sudfeld deserved to be on the team. Here are some of the responses to the release on social media:
The seasoned quarterback has been in the league since 2017, beginning his career with the Philadelphia Eagles before moving to Detroit. While he has yet to get his stride in the NFL, he will most likely be a backup option for the remainder of his career.

Do you believe another team will sign Sudfeld before the regular season begins, or will he remain a free agent?
