JUST IN: The San Francisco Police Department Issues a Fresh Update on 49ers Player Who Was Shot During Attempted Robbery Yesterday.

Ricky Pearsall, a wide receiver, was wounded in the chest during an attempted robbery over the weekend, and the 49ers placed him on the reserve/non-football injury list Monday.

While it is unclear how much playing time the rookie is anticipated to lose, his inclusion on the list implies he will miss at least the first four games of the season.

To fill the roster void, the 49ers announced that offensive tackle Brandon Parker had signed a one-year contract.
