Since Las Vegas Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce said that some players were making “business decisions,” many have wondered if Allegiant Stadium is seeing severe locker room turbulence.
Pierce served as interim head coach for the Raiders last season when Josh McDaniels was dismissed. The coaching change sparked a fire in the locker room and on the field, and the Raiders began to turn things around.
Davante Adams, the Raiders’ wide receiver, was at the centre of part of the turmoil.
For those who watched Netflix’s original series “Receiver,” Adams had cameras following him throughout the Raiders’ season-long drama, which included quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo not connecting with Adams on the field, McDaniels’ departure, and the team finally finding its stride late in the season.
Now, in Pierce’s first full season as head coach, some question where he and Adams stand with one another, given that one of the best wide receivers in the league has expressed discontent during his time with the Raiders.

Situations like this are why Bill Belichick avoided “Snapface” until he had more time on his hands. Pierce’s approval of the Sports Illustrated story fuels speculation about what is going on behind the scenes in Las Vegas.Even if the move was unintentional, it is a significant mistake. What do NFL coaches do on social media during the regular season? They have much more to worry about than a social media post. Or perhaps Pierce, who appears to be able to connect with his players while remaining professional, did hint that Adams being transferred out of Vegas could be genuine.
The Raiders coach may have information that football fans do not yet have.
This slip of the thumb in liking the social media post corresponds to Pierce’s comment about his team. The full comment from the coach was: “I think there were definitely some individuals who made some business decisions, and we’ll make business decisions going forward as well.”
The Raiders held off the Cleveland Browns yesterday, improving their record to 2-2. The question now is whether Adams will be with the Raiders next week when they face the Denver Broncos in a divisional matchup.
