The Buffalo Bills began the season 3-0, but after two consecutive losses, it is evident that quarterback Josh Allen requires a new running back in the absence of wide receiver Stefon Diggs. Given Buffalo’s Week 5 defeat to the Houston Texans, as well as injury concerns and roster weaknesses, Bleacher Report’s NFL Scouting Department recommended that the Bills make a strong push in the coming weeks to sign standout wideout Davante Adams of the Las Vegas Raiders.
“In Sunday’s 23-20 loss to the Texans, Allen was without his top wideout, Khalil Shakir. Aside from Keon Coleman’s 49-yard catch-and-run touchdown, the Bills’ aerial assault struggled, according to B/R. “Shakir may have a short-term injury, but his absence and the consequential dropoff of the Bills’ aerial attack should ramp up the front office’s urgency to pursue Davante Adams.”
According to multiple sources from across the league, the Bills have already inquired with Las Vegas about their best receiver. However, because to the Raiders’ asking price, trade talks with Buffalo and other NFL teams have stalled.
Las Vegas wants a second-round pick and another asset in return for Adams, who is 32 years old this season. That ask seems excessive given the market for Keenan Allen (a fourth-round pick) and Stefon Diggs (about equivalent to a third-round pick) in the offseason.” Furthermore, Adams is only in his third season of a $140 million five-year contract. Teams have requested the Raiders to pay a portion of Adams’ contract in exchange for a second- or third-round pick, but Las Vegas has remained firm in its negotiation position thus far.
