The Green Bay Packers appear to be getting healthier just in time for the most difficult stretch of the season.
Over the following seven weeks, the Packers will face the Arizona Cardinals, Houston Texans, Detroit Lions, Chicago Bears, and San Francisco 49ers. Talk about a significant period. Getting healthier comes at the perfect time.
Romeo Doubs returned to practice for the first time since his one-game suspension, which is a positive indication. It suggests that the Packers have reached an agreement with their third-year wide receiver and may go on.
Christian Watson, who missed the previous week’s game due to an ankle injury, practiced on Wednesday. It is another step in the right way.
Here’s the Packers’ initial injury report for week six:
Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs return to Packers practice ahead of week six.
The Packers’ offence lacked consistency in their win against the Los Angeles Rams last week, and it’s reasonable to infer that Watson and Doubs’ absences contributed to that. Getting both third-year receivers back in the lineup would benefit the entire offence.
Doubts should return from suspension, presuming he has worked things out with Matt LaFleur. Watson’s situation is unclear, but he is moving in the right path.
Returning the former second-round pick would be enormous.
“We missed him last weekend,” explained head coach Matt LaFleur. “We’re excited to get him back there and hopefully he’ll continue to progress through the course of the week.”
That is encouraging.

Devonte Wyatt was the lone player who did not practice, but LaFleur said he hopes to avoid the injured reserve. Wyatt is making improvement, according to LaFleur, and is no longer in need of a walking boot. His Week 6 status appears uncertain, but he is trending in the right direction.
Another notable sign? Jordan Love is no longer on the injury report. He appeared healthy last week and completed several full practices. He is now totally recovered from his damaged MCL, which cost him two games.
The Packers’ injury report is lengthy, but having practically everyone on the practice field this early in the week is a positive indication. Hopefully, the club will be able to prevent any additional injuries during practice, as they have already suffered several this season.
