DEAL CONFIRMED: Tampa Bay Buccaneers Head Coach Todd Bowles Has Officially Confirmed The Signing of Auburn Tigers

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers piled up a lot of stats in their 51-27 victory over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, including two kickoff returns by running back D.J. Williams.

The Bucs promoted Williams from their practice squad, making him eligible to face the Saints, and the rookie made his NFL debut.

 

Williams returned kickoffs for 24 and 30 yards, respectively.

Williams is the 28th Auburn alumni to play in the NFL this season.
Williams rushed for 599 yards and five touchdowns on 122 runs for Auburn in 2019 and 2020, while also catching 12 passes for 72 yards.

Williams attended Florida State in 2021 and Arizona in 2022 and 2023 before joining the Buccaneers as an undrafted rookie this season.

Williams was one of 22 former Auburn players that took the field on the sixth Sunday of the NFL’s 105th season.

Bowles urges Bucs to keep perspective

· K.J. Britt (Oxford) started as an inside linebacker for the Bucs. Britt recorded three tackles and shared one sack. Britt’s first NFL sack came in his 51st game.

· Jamel Dean started as a cornerback for the Bucs. Dean executed one tackle. He departed the game in the first half with a hamstring injury and did not come back.
