BREAKING NEWS: Packers’ Matt LaFleur Gets Brutally Honest with a Shocking Announcement On Jordan Love-Brett Favre Comparison

The Green Bay Packers defeated the Houston Texans 24-22 in Week 7 to improve to 5-2 on the season. While Packers quarterback Jordan Love threw for over 200 yards with a 72% completion rate and three touchdowns, he also threw two interceptions, which helped the Texans stay in the game. Packers fans are used with quarterbacks who throw a lot of touchdowns and interceptions, but head coach Matt LaFleur says he dislikes when Love is compared to Hall of Famer Brett Favre.

“‘Hopefully we can put him in better positions so he’s not throwing picks, so all of you talking heads out there can lighten up on the Brett Favre analogies.’ When asked if they could “coach the Favre out of Love,” LaFleur responded after the game, according to Packers insider Aaron Nagler.

Matt LaFleur issues a clear warning to Jordan Love despite Packers' win

As any Packers fan knows, Favre is one of the best quarterbacks in NFL history. He is also probably the greatest “gun-slinger,” a quarterback who takes tremendous chances, for better or worse, and is never afraid to attempt a home run play. As a result, Favre is fourth in NFL history in throwing yards (71,838) and passing touchdowns (508) while being first in interceptions (336).

Love, who entered the Packers’ Week 7 game with 5,896 passing yards, 47 passing touchdowns, and 20 interceptions, still has a long way to go before he can compete with Favre in any of those statistics. However, his 15 touchdowns to eight interceptions ratio this season could be improved.

Jordan Love, Matt LaFleur, and the Packers made progress in Week 7.

Matt LaFleur Addresses Jordan Love Becoming Starting QB
The Packers’ Week 7 victory over the Texans wasn’t nice at times, but Matt LaFleur, Jordan Love, and the rest of the Packers eventually won a critical game and gained momentum in the NFC North, which will be the strongest division in football in 2024.

This win moves the Packers to 5-2 on the season, just half a game behind the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings, both of which have already had byes. Both clubs improved to 5-1 on the season with the Lions’ Week 7 victory against the Vikings. However, the Packers must keep an eye on their flank, since the 4-2 Chicago Bears are only a half-game back.

At this pace, all four NFC North teams may make the playoffs this season. This has never happened in the NFL’s modern era since 1970.
