Fans, coaches, and even players for the Las Vegas Raiders may have believed they could breathe easier after dealing Davante Adams owing to how much of a nuisance it had become, but new trade rumours have surfaced. The three-time All-Pro wide receiver, whom they traded for prior to the 2022 season, has been the subject of trade rumours since last season.
His outburst on Netflix’s “Receiver” didn’t help to calm things down, and the team’s sluggish start this season appeared to be the icing on the cake. Adams was sold to the New York Jets, where he reunited with quarterback Aaron Rodgers, but now the Raiders must cope with rumours that pass rusher Maxx Crosby wants to go.
Rumours were discussed on Tuesday’s episode of “The Rush Podcast,” with Crosby stating that he has had to knock down rumours about him to the Detroit Lions and his own teammates. “Now it’s like they’ve started a whole pandemonium, a whole movement like a revolution,” Crosby remarked of the Detroit fans who are creating trade rumours. “I’m sitting here innocently, just doing my job… I got to address it with my teammates.
“I’m not trying to leave,” Crosby stated. I understand it’s a f****** business.I don’t have complete control of anything. I want to be in Las Vegas. I want to be silver and black. I will express it loudly and clearly. I want to become a Raider. I’ve said it repeatedly. However, there is also a business aspect to it. I don’t have complete control over it, but at the end of the day, seeing all the drama has been f****** insane.” Aside from Crosby’s exceptional status, there are a few more important reasons why Detroit fans like him. The most evident is that the team’s star pass rusher, Aidan Hutchinson, shattered his leg during the team’s Week 6 victory over the Dallas Cowboys. Lions fans have urged their team to pursue any elite pass rusher on a terrible team, with Cleveland Browns pass rusher Myles Garrett also being mentioned.
The second reason Lions supporters are so intrigued in the three-time Pro Bowler is because he was born in Michigan and, despite migrating to Texas as a child, went on to star at Eastern Michigan University, which is located 30 minutes from Detroit. While Detroit fans are all in on Crosby, the 27-year-old does not appear to want to leave Las Vegas at the moment. It’s also worth mentioning that Raiders owner Mark Davis responded to Crosby trade rumours last week, saying it’s “just not happening.” Stranger things have happened in the NFL, but this saga appears to have been put on hold for now.
