One Detroit Lions fan embodied the Halloween spirit at his team’s Sunday game against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
David Bodine, a fan, got social media buzzing after appearing on the FOX show. His opportunity came about five minutes into the second half, when Detroit faced a fourth-and-1 at Green Bay’s 15. Lions running back Jahymr Gibbs went hardly unnoticed as he rushed up the gut for a score that put his team ahead 24-3.
After the Lions scored, FOX’s camera focused on Bodine, who was sporting a cheeky cheese grater cap. In a sea of Packers fans sporting the trademark cheesehead hat, Bodine was everyone’s worst nightmare.
Bodine suddenly became conscious of his newfound fame. He disclosed his identify to X shortly after the game.
“Apparently I’m making the rounds on this app, in case anyone is wondering who the Lions fan in the cheese grater is…,” Bodine wrote beside his X picture.
The Lions put the Packers away early. However, Detroit was not without controversy. Lions safety Brian Branch was dismissed in the first half after a helmet-to-helmet hit on Packers wide receiver Bo Melton.
The Lions’ victory over the Packers had major consequences for the NFC North standings. Both teams began Week 9 on long winning streaks, but only one was able to keep it going.
Detroit moved to 7-1, while Green Bay dropped to 6-3 following Sunday’s game.
