The Las Vegas Raiders have struggled in 2024, particularly since losing standout receiver Davante Adams and much of their offensive coaching staff. With the regular season’s last games swiftly approaching, many fans and observers believe the team should focus on next year.
According to Chris Trapasso of CBS Sports, the Raiders are one of the best draft fits for standout Miami Hurricanes quarterback Cam Ward. If Las Vegas retains head coach Antonio Pierce next season, it is likely that they will target a quarterback in the draft. “As for the Raiders, they’re wide open,” Trapasso stated.
“Will Antonio Pierce be kept in 2025? What about GM Tom Telesco? If so, they’d go into the 2025 quarterback market with an open mind. Pierce attended Arizona State for part of Jayden Daniels’ term. Ward isn’t as agile as Daniels, but their play styles are similar.
Ward is expected to be one of the first quarterbacks picked in next year’s draft, since he is enjoying one of the best seasons in college football. He has 3,146 throwing yards and 29 touchdowns in 2024, propelling the Hurricanes to unprecedented heights.
