However, that suspension will end just in time for the January transfer window, and after his standout performance the last time around, several English clubs are eager to pounce on the Brentford star’s return.
Toney, according to the Mirror, stoked transfer rumors by uploading a picture of himself scoring a goal at the Emirates against the Gunners. Naturally, some supporters assumed it was a new “come and get me” appeal.
The 27-year-old is one of the top candidates to meet Arsenal’s need for a quality number nine who can average over 15 goals every Premier League season. In 35 games in all competitions last season, Toney scored 21 goals and provided five assists, including a Premier League-best 20 goals.
