“HE IS THE CHOSEN ONE” Raiders Owner Has Agreed 4-Years Contract Worth $45 Millions with Awarding Winning HC To Replace Antonio Pierce – “A Perfect Replacement”

The Las Vegas Raiders took a major gamble by appointing Antonio Pierce to full-time head coach after serving in an interim role last season. So far, the risk has not paid off, as the team has a 2-10 record, tied for the worst in the NFL.The Raiders fired a head coach last year, Josh McDaniels, so firing two in two years is not a good picture for the floundering team. However, owner Mark Davis may be hesitant to commit to a coach with Pierce’s level of experience. Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk provided some insight into the coach’s condition and even mentioned who many anticipate will replace him.

“I feel like it’s a foregone conclusion [that Pierce will be fired],” Florio remarked on the December 3 episode of the “Rich Eisen Show.” “The game management on Friday was terrible. We got so caught up in that failed snap, but was it an unlawful shift? Was this a false start? Was that a live ball? We forget that Antonio Pierce stated that his goal at the time was for Aidan O’Connell to toss the ball away and burn off four or five seconds. Dude, you only had to wait for the ball to spike on the previous play.

“When kids play Madden and they understand how to manage these game situations as well as anyone,” Florio talked about. “When an NFL head coach fails a critical game situation it becomes even more glaring, so I think it’s become a foregone conclusion and there’s plenty of chatter that Mike Vrabel is going to end up there.”

Would Mike Vrabel be a suitable replacement?

Former Tennessee Titans HC Could Get Bears' Job

Vrabel is becoming increasingly linked to the Raiders as a result of his relationship with Tom Brady. The two were teammates on the New England Patriots for several years and have remained close. Now that Brady is a part owner of the Raiders, he may advocate for Vrabel to take the job if it becomes available.

Despite being fired from his prior job with the Tennessee Titans, the coach was voted NFL Coach of the Year in 2021 and finished 54-45. He has a successful track record as a head coach and should be one of the top contenders available this offseason. If the Raiders believe he can be an upgrade over Pierce, they should seriously consider making the trade.

Can Pierce save his job?

The Raiders are already out of playoff contention, so there isn’t much left to play for this season. Pierce might, however, continue to coach for his job. Davis is unlikely to want to remove another head coach, especially since he praised Pierce’s performance last season.

The difficulty for him is that the Raiders have been plagued by dubious game management throughout the season, which has contributed to losses. Pierce does not call plays, thus excellent game management skills are required. If he can improve there while winning three or four more games to finish the season, he may be able to keep his job.
