HUGE BIG SIGNING: Yankees Have Officially Signed All-Star Slugger in Blockbuster Four-Player Trade

The New York Yankees’ first objective this offseason was to re-sign outfielder Juan Soto. General manager Brian Cashman’s efforts were futile, as the 26-year-old agreed to a historic contract with the New York Mets. The Bombers must act quickly to supplement their roster. Could it include acquiring Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm in a trade?

Bohm was chosen an All-Star for the first time in 2024, and he finished the season with a.779 OPS, 15 home runs, 44 doubles, and 97 RBI in 606 plate appearances. That season-long success was bolstered by an impressive first half. Bohm had a.830 OPS before the All-Star Game and a.681 mark after the midsummer classic. He is allegedly available in the trade market as president of baseball operations.

Dave Dombrowski intends to reshape the lineup ahead of 2025. The Yankees need to bolster their infield. Bringing Bohm to the Bronx would enable Jazz Chisholm Jr. to move from the hot corner to second base. What would it take for Cashman to sign the 28-year-old? Rucker Haringey of FanSided believes that a package that includes infielders Oswald Peraza and George Lombard Jr., as well as pitcher Cade Smith, may be effective.

Top Yankees prospect Jasson Domínguez will be out up to 8 weeks from oblique injury - Yahoo Sports

“The Phillies might ask for Jasson Dominguez, but that’s unlikely. “The Yankees should be willing to offload Oswald Peraza in this type of deal,” Haringey wrote. “The Phillies might possibly be interested in the team’s No. 3 overall prospect, George Lombard Jr. Add in one more mid-level pitching prospect, such as Cade Smith, and Philadelphia may be forced to accept a trade. Bohm would be an economical option for the Yankees, who need to make several trades to strengthen their 2025 roster. He’s expected to make $8.1 million next year and is under team control through arbitration until 2026.
