After acquiring Darrell Henderson on Tuesday, the Los Angeles Rams didn’t stop there, immediately signing Myles Gaskin off the Vikings practice squad. The Rams also upgraded Royce Freeman from the practice squad to the 53-man roster, and Gaskin will need to be added as well because he was on Minnesota’s practice squad.
With Kyren Williams and Ronnie Rivers both sidelined, Zach Evans, Freeman, and Gaskin are now on L.A.’s 53-man roster. The addition of Gaskin makes Henderson’s promotion less likely for Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Gaskin, a seventh-round choice of the Dolphins in 2019, has only played one complete season in the NFL. In 2021, he carried for 612 yards on 173 rushes, averaging 3.5 yards per carry and scoring three times. In the passing game, he grabbed 49 passes for 234 yards and four touchdowns.
Gaskin spent last season with the Dolphins but most recently with the Minnesota Vikings. He appeared in one game but received no offensive action. It’s essentially the same as trading Cam Akers to the Vikings earlier this season for Gaskin.
