Four-star cornerback Trystan Haynes, a standout in the 2025 recruiting class, has officially signed with the Oklahoma Sooners. The announcement comes on the heels of his participation in the prestigious Navy All-American Bowl, where Haynes impressed scouts and fans alike with his exceptional athleticism and coverage skills.
Haynes, a 6-foot-1, 185-pound cornerback from Houston, Texas, is ranked among the top 10 cornerbacks in the nation and top 100 overall prospects. His decision to join Oklahoma adds another elite talent to head coach Brent Venables’ already strong 2025 recruiting class.
Speaking after the Navy All-American Bowl, Haynes expressed excitement about his future in Norman. “Playing in the Navy All-American Bowl was an incredible experience, and it gave me a chance to compete with the best players in the country,” Haynes said. “But now, I’m ready to get to work at Oklahoma. It’s the perfect fit for me—great coaching, a strong program, and a chance to compete for championships.”
During the All-American Bowl, Haynes showcased the skills that have made him one of the most sought-after defensive backs in the nation. He recorded multiple pass breakups and displayed lockdown coverage against some of the top wide receivers in his class. His performance reaffirmed why the Sooners were so eager to secure his commitment.
Haynes cited the relationships he built with Oklahoma’s coaching staff as a key factor in his decision. “Coach Venables and Coach Hall made it clear from the start how much they wanted me to be a part of this program. They believe in my abilities and have a vision for how I can contribute to the team.”
