The Georgia Bulldogs are on track to land the program’s future quarterback. While Georgia will need to find a solution for 2025, the Bulldogs are vying for a top five-star quarterback in the 2026 recruiting class.
Kirby Smart, Georgia’s head coach, must make a decision at quarterback for next season. With Carson Beck transferring to the Miami Hurricanes, Gunner Stockton remains the favourite to be the team’s starting quarterback in 2025.
The Bulldogs also signed four-star quarterback Ryan Montgomery in the 2025 class. Georgia is moving in the right direction for five-star quarterback Jared Curtis. The Dawgs are competing with premier programs such as the Ohio State Buckeyes and Oregon Ducks for the Nashville Christian talent.
According to On3.com’s Steve Wiltfong, Georgia has a competitive advantage on the field for the No. 1 quarterback in the 2026 class.
“I do think the relationships are still strongest at Georgia,” Wiltfong wrote on Tuesday. Mike Bobo, offensive coordinator, spent nine hours with Curtis and his family during a recent in-home visit. Kirby Smart and Bobo will return on Thursday.
“Proximity to home, competing for championships every year, familiarity with the staff, and possibly the cleanest depth chart of the three to contend right away within a great roster put the Bulldogs in a good position. As of right now, I still enjoy where UGA is.”
The 6-foot-3, 225-pound quarterback’s NIL value is expected to be $482,000. This figure could climb as Curtis approaches college football eligibility.
Curtis had previously committed to Georgia before reopening his recruitment in October 2024.
