Stop us if you’ve heard this before, but the Georgia Bulldogs have snagged a standout talent, beating out a number of other programs in the process. On Thursday afternoon, the news director Kirby Smart and his colleagues had hoped for arrived.
That news is that four-star safety Zech Fort doesn’t need any more time to decide where he’ll play college football. Moments ago, the coveted prospect confirmed that he’ll be bringing his talents to Athens, with Georgia landing his commitment:
4-star safety. Zech Fort, a standout at IMG Academy, has committed to Kirby Smart and Georgia. Bulldogs supporters are enthusiastic about his future in the Southeastern Conference. Throughout his recruitment, he received offers from over 30 teams, including Georgia, LSU, Auburn, Colorado, Florida, Florida State, and many more.
According to On3’s Hayes Fawcett, the most recent UGA pledge was also considering Alabama, Ohio State, and Notre Dame. In the end, he determined that Georgia was the best option for him. Fort, a 5-10, 190-pound safety, is ranked eighth in the country and 104th overall by 247Sports Composite.
With Fort on board, Smart and the Bulldogs now have five verbal commits for the 2026 class. Fort is joined by Vance Spafford, Lincoln Keyes, Jontavius Wyman, and Seven Cloud.
The Bulldogs have the No. 12 class in the country for ’26, but you can bet UGA will be ready to compete for one of the top hauls in the nation after everything is said and done. Smart is a recruitment magician who is well-known for landing some of the best talent available. Fort’s departure for Athens has once again highlighted this.
