BREAKING: Notre Dame Lands Another Four-Star 2026 Tight End Ian Premer After Beaten Out Alabama and Ohio State

Ian Premer, 247Sports’ No. 33 overall athlete and No. 2 tight end, received an offer from the University of Notre Dame early Saturday morning.
Premer is a two-year starter at Great Bend (KS), having played 10 games in each of the last three seasons. He has 65 receptions for 1,117 yards (17.2 yards per reception) and 17 touchdowns in his career. In high school, he mainly lines up as a wide receiver, but he occasionally plays (and carries) out of the backfield. Premer ran 37 times this season for 260 yards (7 yards per run) and two touchdowns in 2024.

As a defensive safety, he has 165 tackles, one for loss, and eight interceptions. Premer plays baseball and basketball for the Panthers, and has over 200 yards on kick returns. Check out this dunk from last week.
Premer is now the ninth tight end in the 2026 class with a Notre Dame offer, and he is the top-ranked talent in the bunch. The 6-foot-5, 220-pounder has received 24 offers, including from Florida, Kansas, Kansas State, Miami, Michigan, Oklahoma, Oregon, and Stanford, among others.

“Premer is a standout two-sport athlete and promising college prospect in football and basketball.” He averaged 21.2 points and 9.2 rebounds per game on the court and can play above the rim. He is being heavily recruited for football and was productive on both sides of the ball last season. At 6-5 and 205 pounds, he was a huge receiver who caught 32 passes for 538 yards and nine touchdowns. He made 64 tackles and four interceptions as a safety, but tight end is his likely meal ticket at the next level and beyond.

He has a tremendous frame, sprints well, has good hands, consistently wins jump balls, and offers you something after the catch. He mostly lines up out wide, but may occasionally slide into the slot. He possesses a big grab radius, and his basketball background is evident in how easily he wins 50-50 balls, making him an immediate red zone threat. We like the ceiling and believe he’s a high-major Power 4 prospect who can play for any school in the country.”
