SHOCKING TRADE: Tigers in a shock move for out-of-favour Storm amazing star

In a prospective player trade, the Tigers might land out-of-favour Storm centre Justin Olam.

According to The Daily Telegraph, the Tigers would obtain Olam, while the Storm would receive forward Shawn Blore in exchange.

This would be the second player swap between these two clubs in three years, following the loan of Storm hooker Harry Grant to the Tigers for the 2020 season in exchange for centre Paul Momirovski.

NRL 2023: Melbourne Storm, Ryan Papenhuyzen, selections, Justin Olam, Broncos, Reece Walsh, Knights, Kalyn Ponga, Sharks, Nicho Hynes

The news of Olam being shopped around by Melbourne comes as no surprise, given that he was in and out of the Storm’s first-grade side and was not selected for the qualifying final against the Broncos.

Blore signed a one-year deal with the Tigers for 2024 last month, but the club has also re-signed forwards Alex Twal and Alex Seyfarth, creating a logjam and making Blore more expendable.

If a trade is completed, it appears to be a win-win situation for both parties.

Blore would provide much-needed depth to the Storm pack, while the Tigers could undoubtedly benefit from a player with Olam’s experience and class in their youthful backline.
