The Washington Commanders are entering the NFL offseason with plenty of enthusiasm following their recent playoff run. The Commanders have the ability to be one of the more aggressive clubs in NFL free agency. On the eve of the Super Bowl in New Orleans, La., Athlon Sports spoke with Jayden Daniels about the approaching offseason.
Daniels worked with USAA to surprise veterans with a trip to the Super Bowl. Regarding Daniels’ role in assisting the front staff in developing a Super Bowl contender, the star quarterback clarified the record. “I don’t know,” Daniels told Athlon Sports, smiling, when asked how he would spend a blank check in NFL free agency. “That’s why I don’t make such decisions.
That’s why I’m leaving it to them. Spotrac predicts that the Commanders will have more than $79.5 million to spend in NFL free agency, ranking third in the league. Even if Daniels does not want to be extensively involved in the Commanders’ offseason, the presence of the top quarterback should make Washington an intriguing destination for free agents.
Washington is coming off an outstanding 12-5 season in 2024, which earned them a trip to the NFC Championship. It will be interesting to see if the Commanders make a move for another talented receiver to offer Daniels with even more playmakers in 2025.
