BREAKING: The Chicago Bears Announced Wednesday That They Have Signed Defensive Lineman From NFC South to a Three-Year Contract

The Chicago Bears have bolstered their defensive line in a big way, signing veteran defensive tackle Grady Jarrett to a three-year contract, the team announced Wednesday.

Jarrett, a two-time Pro Bowler and longtime anchor of the Atlanta Falcons’ defense, now brings his experience and leadership to a Bears team looking to make a leap in 2025. The deal is reportedly worth $51 million, including $32 million in guaranteed money, per league sources.Report: Bears sign veteran DT Grady Jarrett to 3-year deal

“I’m hungry for more,” Jarrett said in a statement following the announcement. “Chicago is building something special, and I want to be part of a defense that dominates. I’m excited to get to work.”

The Bears, who finished 7-10 last season, have prioritized upgrading their defensive front to complement rising stars like Montez Sweat. Adding Jarrett, who has been one of the NFL’s most consistent interior linemen since being drafted in 2015, gives them a proven disruptor in the trenches.

Jarrett, 30, spent the first nine seasons of his career with the Falcons, where he recorded 34 sacks, 69 tackles for loss, and 8 forced fumbles. He was a key part of Atlanta’s Super Bowl run in 2016 and remained one of their top defenders despite the team’s struggles in recent years.

The move also signifies Chicago’s commitment to fortifying a defense that ranked 20th in total yards allowed last season. With head coach Matt Eberflus emphasizing a strong defensive identity, Jarrett’s presence should be a major boost both on the field and in the locker room.

“Grady is a game-changer,” Bears GM Ryan Poles said in a statement. “His ability to pressure the quarterback, stop the run, and lead by example is exactly what we need. We’re thrilled to welcome him to Chicago.”

With Jarrett in the fold, the Bears continue to reshape their roster in hopes of contending in the NFC North. Chicago fans will get their first look at the veteran lineman when the team kicks off its offseason program in the coming months.
