TENSION: Footage emerge of off-field tension between AC Milan captain Calabria and Pioli after Milan defect

After Milan’s 3-0 loss to PSG, Stefano Pioli stated his captain Davide Calabria was ‘wrong’ to criticize teammates for ‘not believing enough,’ and then revealed another injury.

The Diavolo’s issues are evident, as they have failed to score in five consecutive Champions League games, something no Italian team has ever done.

Calabria came off the bench at halftime to replace Malick Thiaw, who had received a yellow card, but he couldn’t stop Randal Kolo Muani and Kang-in Lee from adding to Kylian Mbappé’s opening.

Calabria was extremely angry at the performance and saw things totally differently when he spoke to Mediaset Infinity after the defeat.

“We knew this group would persevere to the end.” We’ve arrived. We go to Milanello every day and work our a**es off so that we can play these games.

“If we want to stay in the Champions League, which we do, we have to roll our sleeves up.” Anyone who does not believe should simply remain at home.”

When these remarks were relayed to Pioli, the coach was not pleased with his captain’s approach.

“He was incorrect in his statement. Nobody at Milanello works without the proper focus or intensity. It is possible to say things you don’t mean after a match in the heat of the moment.

“What we prepared during the week is what we showed today, it was just that we lacked quality in certain moments, misplacing some crucial passes.”

Pioli was chastised for playing Olivier Giroud for the complete 90 minutes, but it was shown that there was a solid reason for this, especially since Noah Okafor and Samuel Chukwueze were already injured.

“During the warm-up, Luka Jovic felt a twinge in his adductor. I’m not sure if he’ll be ready to face Napoli.”

Because Luka Romero is not on the Champions League squad list, there are no strikers available.
The only other option was 18-year-old Chaka Traore, who was promoted from the youth team to make up the numbers.
