The Atlanta Falcons are on the verge of becoming NFC contenders. With the correct moves, they may achieve that kind of surge in the 2025 season.
Coming into the 2025 season, all eyes will be on second-year quarterback Michael Penix Jr. After being taken with the eighth overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, he is definitely the Falcons’ future.
However, surrounding him with as much roster skill as they can find would be prudent. To that end, Atlanta has been mentioned as a possible suitor for a highly promising defensive player.
Atlanta Falcons May Make Aggressive Move for Packers’ $84 Million Star
Jaire Alexander has been a name to remember in NFL circles for a few weeks. It sounds like the Green Bay Packers intend to move or release the standout cornerback.
While they have yet to make a move, it is projected to come before the 2025 season.
If and when the Packers decide to release Alexander, could the Falcons be among the clubs interested in signing him? They could use some defensive secondary help, and Alexander is about as good as it gets.
According to David Latham of Last Word on Sports, Atlanta could be a potential bidder for Alexander if he enters free agency.
Alexander has only been able to play in seven games every season for the past two years. That is what has led Green Bay to consider releasing him. Despite injury worries, the Falcons would be wise to take a chance on him.
Alexander recorded 16 tackles, a fumble recovery, two interceptions, a defensive score, and seven passes defended in just seven games of the 2024 season.
All that being said, Atlanta will be a team to watch for Alexander. He may not become available, but if so, the team should consider chasing him.
