Mike Maignan’s entourage has reportedly made explicit requests in negotiations to extend his contract with Milan.
The 28-year-old French goalkeeper has established himself as one of the stars of this contemporary Rossoneri team, and he was instrumental in their 2021–22 Scudetto victory.
Maignan has remained a consistent member of Stefano Pioli’s squad and a dependable pair of hands. He frequently ranks among the finest goalkeepers in Serie A right now.
The club is eager to prolong Maignan’s tenure past the current 2026 date, and extension talks have officially begun, according to page three of today’s Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Frenchman is seeking a remuneration that is comparable to the highest-paid goalkeepers in the world, or about €8–10 million net each season.
With Rafael Leao’s current top salary of €5 million net, he would become Milan’s highest paid player. At now, the goalie makes a net salary of €2.8 million.
