Didier Dechamps, the head coach of France, has disclosed that Olivier Giroud sprained his ankle, but it has also come to light that the medical team is not overly concerned.
Giroud limped off the field in the 23rd minute of tonight’s match between France and Ireland while attempting to latch onto a feed inside the box and appeared to be in some discomfort.
When asked about Giroud during his halftime interview with TF1, Deschamps responded, “He had a minor ankle issue, then on a shot he turned it. Unfortunately, he was in too much pain to continue.
The medical personnel in France are not very concerned about Giroud’s ankle injury, according to a report from the broadcaster TF1 (via MilanNews). He was seen on the bench, applying ice to his injured ankle.
