The “Greek Freak,” Giannis Antetokounmpo, is reportedly open to teaming up with San Antonio Spurs sensation Victor Wembanyama in what could be a seismic shift in the NBA. According to people familiar with the matter, Antetokounmpo is interested in the prospect of working with the 7’4″ generational talent, and San Antonio has subtly emerged as a top destination for a number of superstars, including Kevin Durant.
League insiders claim that Antetokounmpo’s team has expressed interest in the Spurs’ long-term goals, player development philosophy, and chance to work with Wembanyama to create a formidable team. Although there isn’t an official request or agreement in the works, league executives are closely monitoring San Antonio as a potential dark horse to sign a top-tier superstar.
In the meantime, the Spurs’ pursuit of Kevin Durant is gaining more and more traction.
