DEAL COMPLETED: Lions Have Officially Sign Center Who Started 14 Games as a Rookie in 2024 to Replace Frank Ragnow

After center Frank Ragnow announced his retirement, the Detroit Lions quickly began bolstering their offensive line.

The Lions signed former Cardinals offensive tackle Trystan Colon a few days after the unexpected retirement.

Detroit Lions Sign OL Trystan Colon to 1 Year Contract

Despite playing guard for the Cardinals last season, Colon has the advantage of position flexibility because he played center in college.

Colon doesn’t have a lot of potential as a starter, but that versatility is crucial for a Lions team that is uneasy throughout their O-line.

That might cause them to keep searching for someone who has a better chance of replacing Ragnow as the starting quarterback.

Gennaro Filice of NFL.com believes the Lions ought to attempt a trade for center Beaux Limmer of the Los Angeles Rams.

Limmer was suddenly thrown into action early in his rookie season after being taken by the Rams in the sixth round of last year’s draft.

Jonah Jackson, a former Lions guard, was supposed to start at center for LA, but he was only able to play four games due to an injury sustained in Week 2.

After Jackson’s injury, Limmer took over as the starting center and made 14 appearances.
