Superstar center Victor Wembanyama’s outstanding effort in Game 5 gave the San Antonio Spurs a 3-2 series lead over the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Wembanyama led the Spurs to a commanding 126-97 victory with 27 points, 17 rebounds, five assists, and three blocks. The 22-year-old Frenchman made NBA history as the third youngest player to score at least 25 points, grab 15 rebounds, and dish out five assists in a single postseason game.

Wembanyama was dismissed for elbowing Naz Reid in the mouth, so he missed much of the Spurs’ Game 4 defeat. In just nine minutes of action in the first quarter of Game 5, he scored eighteen of his twenty-seven points.

Wembanyama remarked after the game, “The way we started the game is really important for us because it sets the tone.” “I felt good and was renewed.” To be honest, it’s difficult to determine if it was only Game 5. I will undoubtedly be thrilled. There will be butterflies. At this stage of the playoffs, excitement is normal.
In Game 6, the Spurs had the opportunity to win on the road to end the series. They will play the defending NBA champion Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference Finals if they win. If they lose, they will play the Timberwolves in Game 7 again in San Antonio.
