Kurt Mann, Drew Hutchison, Jake Turpin, and Poasa Faamausili have been confirmed as new Canterbury Bulldogs signings for the 2024 season.
Mann and Hutchison have both been linked with a move to the club for some time, with Faamausili and Turpin rounding out the quartet.
The length of the deals is unknown at this time. Zero Tackle has contacted the club to determine the length of each contract.
Mann is expected to play the most important role of the new quartet as second-year coach Cameron Ciraldo continues to rebuild his Bulldogs in an attempt to improve the club’s dreadful record.
The utility, who has primarily played lock forward and hooker for the Newcastle Knights during the 2023 season, can also play in the halves, at center, or at fullback.
He is not the club’s first utility signing, with the Bulldogs also recently signing Blake Taaffe from the South Sydney Rabbitohs and Jae Salmon from the Penrith Panthers.
Drew Hutchison is the other member of the recently announced quartet. Formerly a half, he has recently transformed his game to be able to line up in the centres or at hooker for the Sydney Roosters.
At the Bulldogs, he will be joined by another Rooster in Jake Turpin, who will provide depth in the number nine jumper for Reed Mahoney, who had a solid first season in blue and white after joining from the Parramatta Eels, but will be looking to improve in 2023.
Faamausili joins the Bulldogs from the Dolphins, adding depth to the club’s engine room. The 27-year-old Auckland-born forward has only played 43 NRL games since making his debut with the Roosters in 2018. He has also played for the New Zealand Warriors and St George Illawarra Dragons before joining Redcliffe, where he has played four NRL games.
In the coming weeks, all four players will begin pre-season training with Canterbury.
