JUST IN: MLB Insider reveals free Agent is now pushing hard to have an agreement with BRAVES over a potential trade

Only time will tell where superstar baseball unicorn Shohei Ohtani will play in the 2024 Major League Baseball season. Until then, fans and experts are left to speculate on various levels of plausibility.

Take, for example, MLB Network’s Jon Morosi, who stated that Ohtani “would be very intrigued by playing for the Atlanta Braves.”
However, Morosi expressed his reservations about such a massive collaboration, stating that Atlanta’s primary goal in the offseason is to shore up their pitching.

“Right now, I don’t expect the Braves to sign him because their priority is to improve their pitching staff for 2024.” But it gives you an idea of where his mind is at.”

Where will free agent superstar Shohei Ohtani play next?

That said, if there’s one player who can change any franchise’s offseason plans, it’s Shohei Ohtani, the undisputed king of free agents this season.

Shohei Ohtani to the Braves is not out of the question.
However, having a desire to acquire Ohtani is not the same as actually laying the groundwork and financial logistics to do so. According to FanGraphs, the Braves’ expected payroll for the 2024 MLB season is $207 million. Austin Riley and Matt Olson are expected to earn $21 million and $22 million, respectively, in 2024, while four other Braves are expected to earn at least $16 million.

Austin Riley, Matt Olson hit back-to-back homers in Braves' win

The mere prospect of Ohtani joining the Braves should be enough to frighten the rest of the major leagues. The Braves already have a plethora of elite talent, including Riley, Olson, and Ronald Acuna Jr. If Atlanta wins the Shohei Ohtani sweepstakes, it will be difficult to argue that Atlanta should not be the overwhelming favorite to win the World Series next season.
