When it comes to Raiders rumors, star receiver Davante Adams has made it clear that he does not want to leave Las Vegas. Adams asked the Packers for a trade in 2021, and Green Bay granted it, sending him back to his West Coast roots and reuniting him with his college quarterback, Derek Carr. Oh, and the Raiders contributed a five-year, $140 million deal.
Even as the Raiders have devolved into a shambles under Josh McDaniels in the last year and a half, Adams has maintained that the Raider rumors surrounding him are unfounded. Nonetheless, they keep coming.
The most recent report comes from Bleacher Report, which lists Adams as not only a potential trade chip in the upcoming offseason, but as THE trade chip, ranking first overall on the 2024 trade Big Board.
“Soon approaching his age-31 season, Adams might not be a fan of toiling in mediocrity in his late-prime years,” David Kenyon, a writer for B/R, writes. “Perhaps a second trade request is on the way.” Adams’ contract, like that of (Bills WR Stefon) Diggs, is easier to move after June 1.”

There were times during the first eight weeks of the season, before Josh McDaniels was fired, when it appeared that the Davante Adams Raiders rumors had some validity. Adams was dissatisfied with the state of the offense and admitted that, at his age, he does not have time to wait for a rebuilding plan.
Even after the Raiders defeated the Packers on Monday Night Football in Week 5, Adams expressed his dissatisfaction, and Raiders rumors resurfaced.
“I am a human being with extremely high expectations of myself and this offense.” People are probably thinking, ‘They won the game, they won the Packers game, so why is this happening?’
“You can see why there’s a problem. At this point, you should know who I am and what I’m about.”
Now, it’s clear that Josh McDaniels was Adams’ issue, and things have improved since the team named Antonio Pierce interim head coach. Even before the move, Adams told NFL Network’s Rich Eisen, “I am 100 percent happy to be a Raider.” This was my decision, and I stand by it; I intend to continue working on it to make it what it should be.”
Raiders Rumors Are Expected to Resurface
All of that could change once the offseason arrives. The Raiders are currently on a two-game winning streak, but they are in the midst of a brutal closing schedule. The Raiders’ next five opponents are a combined 30-16, including two games against the division-leading Chiefs.
If the Raiders are unable to regain their playoff position and decide to pursue a youth movement in the future, Adams may seek to relocate. It will not be easy. Even after two years of his $140 million contract, he still comes with He hasn’t personally added to the Raiders rumors, so it’s all conjecture.
And the speculation isn’t going away anytime soon.
“Even if the Raiders keep Adams, it’s a safe bet that several teams will inquire,” B/R wrote in an email. “Oh, and be ready for an offseason of Raiders rumors connecting him with Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets.”
