JUST IN: Dorian Thompson-Robinson injury update After Being Bloodied by Dirty Hit

The Browns’ starting quarterback is already out for the rest of the season. They appear to be down the next man up late in the third quarter.

Dorian Thompson-Robinson suffered an injury after being hit hard by Broncos linebacker Baron Browning.

Thompson-Robinson was treated by medical personnel before leaving the field. On the play, Browning was flagged for roughing the passer.

Thompson-Robinson appeared to be gaining momentum prior to his injury. He had completed 14 of 29 passes for 134 yards and a touchdown, leading the Browns on three consecutive scoring drives. The Browns fumbled the ball on a lateral trick play two plays after Thompson-Robinson’s injury. The Broncos recovered it and scored four plays later to take a 24-12 lead.

Thompson-Robinson took a huge hit from Browning, knocking him to the ground and necessitating medical attention. He was able to walk on his own, but he headed straight for the blue medical tent.

Thompson-Robinson was seen bleeding from his mouth as he made his way to the medical tent.

The rookie quarterback was seen walking to the locker room with a towel over his head after being evaluated in the tent. He was officially ruled out with a head injury late in the fourth quarter, according to The Athletic’s Zac Jackson, with ESPN’s Adam Schefter reporting it was a concussion.

P.J. Walker took over for Thompson-Robinson, who has completed 49 percent of his passes for 618 yards, a touchdown, and five interceptions in five games this season.

What happened to Joe Flacco?
The Browns signed veteran quarterback Joe Flacco with the intention of having him compete for, if not eventually win, the quarterback job left open by Deshaun Watson’s season-ending injury.

However, Flacco was signed just six days before the game against the Broncos, which means he hasn’t had enough time to learn the playbook and become fully prepared to spend time in an NFL offense. He had only been on the practice squad and had not yet been promoted to the active roster.
