Bradford ties Grimsby 1–1 Incident: Potential Bradford penalty
Decision: Bradford was cautioned for simulation but no penalty was assessed.
Foy argues that this was a really wise call by the referee, especially since it was made in extra time with the scores tied at the end of the second half.
I don’t see any contact when the attacking player drives into the box and goes to the ground. When the attacker’s actions are taken into account, the correct call was made, warning the player against simulation. The defender does not challenge.
Accrington 0–3–Mansfield Incident: Possible Mansfield penalty
Mansfield was not given a penalty.
The defensive player can consider himself extremely fortunate not to have given up a penalty for handball in this incident, according to Foy.
The defender jumps with his arm above shoulder height and is visibly moving it away from his body, making him unnaturally bigger. He had come from a distance to try to block the cross.
This action keeps the ball from passing him, and in my opinion, a penalty ought to have been given.
