The Chicago Bears are in a strong position heading into the 2024 NFL Draft, with two first-round picks, including the projected No. 1 overall pick. Former NFL wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson believes the team should draft Ohio State Buckeyes standout Marvin Harrison Jr. with the projected No. 1 pick.

Nowadays, wide receivers are rarely considered first-round picks. In fact, no wide receiver has gone first overall in the draft since Keyshawn Johnson was selected first overall by the New York Jets in 1996.

Johnson believes that the Bears should be the team to select Harrison Jr. first overall if they receive the No. 1 pick, and they should stick with third-year quarterback Justin Fields at quarterback.

“I like the fascination about Caleb Williams,” Johnson said on FS1’s Undisputed. He’s fantastic; he won the Heisman Trophy at USC. However, with young quarterbacks, the circumstances are critical. You will always scratch your head until you get something and put them around that to make them successful. Imagine if he (Justin Fields) had another player on the other side of the field like DJ Moore. “Imagine how that would look.”

“My first choice for him is Marvin Harrison Jr. Either at the first or fourth overall pick. I’d probably do it at one.”

Marvin Harrison Jr. is an undeniable talent who will almost certainly be selected among the top five picks. Is he, however, a player worthy of being the first overall pick?

Only time will tell if the Bears, or whoever wins the No. 1 pick, see him as that type of prospect. However, it is clear that at least Keyshawn Johnson sees him as a generational prospect who has the potential to change everything for Chicago.
