“We played them in Week 1, and losing Jordan (Travis) was a big deal for Florida State,” Daniels said when pressed. Personally, I believe they did it to increase ratings and viewership.”

In Florida State’s Week 12 win over North Alabama, quarterback Jordan Travis suffered a season-ending knee injury. He was in the midst of a Heisman-caliber season, throwing for 20 touchdowns and two interceptions in 11 games. He also had seven touchdowns on the ground. Travis threw for 342 yards and four touchdowns in the season opener against the Tigers. In the ACC Championship, Florida State’s offense struggled under a new quarterback, specifically third-string gunslinger Brock Glenn.’

“Prayers to Jordan and everything he is going through right now,” Daniels continued. It is not his fault, and you have no control over such things. “At some point, Florida State will get what they deserve.”

Meanwhile, Daniels is the favorite to win the Heisman Trophy after an outstanding 2023 season. The fifth-year senior completed 72.2% of his passes and threw 40 touchdowns against four interceptions. He also ran for 1,134 yards and ten touchdowns on the ground.

Despite going undefeated, the Florida State Seminoles were left out of the College Football Playoff.

Despite going undefeated and winning their conference, the Florida State Seminoles became the first Power 5 team in the College Football Playoff era to miss out on a national title. Instead, the committee chose Alabama’s one-loss Crimson Tide to round out the four-team field. Alabama lost to the Texas Longhorns earlier in the season and came close to losing to the Auburn Tigers in the regular season finale, but won the SEC Championship over juggernaut Georgia. Meanwhile, in their respective conference title game, FSU’s offense struggled in a 16-6 win over the Louisville Cardinals.
