But his departure from Philadelpha appears to be a foregone conclusion. His contract with the MLS club expires on December 31. He will be a free agent in January and can currently be approached on a pre-contract basis.

Leeds, West Ham, and Brentford have all been linked with a move. According to a more recent source, Brighton is interested in him. The Athletic has now provided an update on the German flyer.

Indeed, they claim that Philadelphia has tried to keep Wagner by offering him fresh terms in the last week. It is uncertain whether he will choose to come on, with AEK Athens also rumored to have made a proposal for Wagner.

This week, a new offer was made for Leeds United target Kai Wagner.

Leeds has been mentioned once more as being interested in the assist machine. He’d be a great addition for Leeds, who are short on left-back alternatives. Both Sam Byram and Junior Firpo are presently out with injuries.

Bringing Wagner in on the cheap would be a brilliant move for the club. However, as the January transfer window approaches, top-tier clubs are expected to show interest in the left-back.

It will be interesting to see where he ends up after the January window closes. It’s possible that Philadelphia may keep him, but Leeds desperately need a left-back now more than ever.
