Tyler Brown, a former Collingwood and Adelaide midfielder, has signed with VFL club Box Hill for the 2024 season.
Brown, who joins his older brother Callum with the Hawks, moves to Middleborough Road after a year with the Crows in South Australia.
After five years with Collingwood, the 24-year-old joined Adelaide as a Supplemental Selection Period list addition ahead of the 2023 season.
Brown joined the Magpies as a father-son pick in the 2017 National Draft, following in the footsteps of his father Gavin, a championship player and member of Collingwood’s Team of the Century.
Brown, a big midfielder, played 27 games for the Magpies before being delisted alongside his brother at the end of last year.
While Callum went straight to the Hawks, Tyler was set to join fellow VFL club Footscray before securing a training spot at West Lakes.
Brown signed a one-year contract with the Crows in 2023 after a brief run with Adelaide coach Matthew Nicks. Brown was not granted a contract extension with the Crows after playing only one AFL game this season.
The former two-club midfielder has signed with Box Hill for 2024, reuniting with his brother.
“Would like to join the Box Hill Football Club,” Brown stated in a club post.
“They’ve always been difficult opponents.” I’m looking forward to playing with my brother again in 2024.”
Brown joins 2022 Fothergill-Round-Mitchell Medalist Ethan Phillips on the Hawks’ roster for next season.
Box Hill finished third in the VFL this year before losing in a preliminary final to eventual champions Gold Coast.
