SURPRISED: Was amazed at what happened at Marcus Smart wedding..

Marcus Smart was traded from Boston, but it doesn’t mean he no longer cares about the Celtics.

Speaking of love, Smart married Maisa Hallum last weekend, whom he proposed to while still on the C’s in December. The wedding served as a sort of reunion for current and past Celtics who were in attendance.
The guard for the Memphis Grizzlies invited Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Derrick White, Robert Williams III, and a slew of other Celtics. During his nine-year time with the C’s, he shared the court with Charlotte Hornets guard Terry Rozier, 2023 FIBA World Cup winner Daniel Theis, and Dallas Mavericks player Grant Williams.

Smart also invited coaches and organizational leaders. For instance, Celtics president

The wedding was attended by Celtics president of basketball operations Brad Stevens and head coach Joe Mazzulla. They even posed with Tatum in the photo booth:
Former Celtics assistant coaches Ben Sullivan and Damon Stoudamire, as well as Celtics owner Wyc Grousbeck and vice president of basketball operations Mike Zarren, came out to support Smart. The most intriguing speaker, however, was Houston Rockets head coach Ime Udoka, who helped Smart and company reach the NBA Finals in 2022.
Despite the fact that the Celtics suspended Udoka and fired him following a scandal, it’s evident that his former teammates still admire him. Although the whole extent of Udoka’s illicit interactions with Celtics personnel may never be revealed, whatever he did was not terrible enough to warrant a suspension.

Following the joyous wedding, the most of the NBA guests will depart. Udoka will lead a new-look Rockets squad, the Celtics will go after Banner No. 18, and Smart will try to make a name for himself in Memphis. While Marcus Smart is no longer a Celtic, the people of Boston still adores him. The 2022 Defensive Player of the Year will return to Beantown on Feb. 4, 2024, when the C’s host the Grizzlies.
