BREAKING NEWS: President Joe Biden congratulates Michigan on their National Championship title with a National declaration

President Joe Biden congratulated the Michigan Wolverines on winning the College Football Playoff National Championship on Monday night in Houston.

Coach Jim Harbaugh and the Michigan Wolverines won their third national championship in three years, defeating the Washington Huskies 34-13 in Houston.

Blake Corum stole the show for the Wolverines, rushing for 134 yards and two fourth-quarter scores as the team overcame suspensions and a sign-stealing case to win the NCAA championship.

As is typical for championship-winning teams, the Wolverines will now be invited to the White House to celebrate with the President in the future.

But, for the time being, President Biden took to social media early Tuesday to congratulate Coach Harbaugh and his Michigan squad.
‘Congratulations to the University of Michigan Wolverines on becoming the 2024 College Football Champions!’ he wrote.

‘Today, you are true winners, bringing your team’s first championship win to Ann Arbor since 1997.
You’ve made every American proud to wear the Maize and Blue.’

Corum, who scored the game-winning touchdown in overtime against Alabama in the Rose Bowl, stormed in from the 1-yard line with 3:37 left to put Michigan up by 21 and set off another thunderous rendition of ‘The Victors’ from the band.

Despite missing six regular-season games this season while serving two suspensions, Harbaugh won the championship that many predicted when he took over a failing powerhouse in 2015.

The Wolverines rushed for 303 yards against Washington, and their tenacious defense limited Michael Penix Jr. and the Huskies’ spectacular passing game to one touchdown, while intercepting the Heisman Trophy runner-up twice.

‘We’re innocent, and we stood up because we knew we were innocent. And I’d like to emphasize that,’ Harbaugh said when asked about off-field matters, interjecting to respond to a question made to his players.

‘And these men are completely innocent. And how did you overcome that? It wasn’t too difficult because we knew we were innocent.

The season) went exactly as we had hoped. ‘Everything went perfectly as planned.’

Michigan appeared to be on track for a third consecutive Big Ten title when it was announced in October that the NCAA was looking into the program for potentially breaking regulations that restrict in-person reconnaissance of opponents and the use of camera equipment to attempt to interpret opponents’ play signals.

Connor Stalions, the low-level Michigan recruitment staffer accused of coordinating the fraud, became a household figure as a result of the controversy, which threatened to derail the Wolverines’ season.

The NCAA procedure will last until 2024, and it is unclear what sanctions Michigan may incur.

The Big Ten, on the other hand, acted quickly and penalized Michigan by suspending Harbaugh for the next three regular-season games, including games against Penn State and rival Ohio State.

With Harbaugh replaced by offensive coordinator Sherrone Moore, it was Michigan versus. Everyone and nobody could stop the Wolverines.

Harbaugh returned for the postseason, completed the objective, and was able to accept the trophy alongside his 84-year-old father, Jack, himself a former college football coach.
