BREAKING NEWS: Package Deal – Atlanta Falcons are reportedly on the verge of contract agreement for both Head Coach and his offensive coordinator

The Atlanta Falcons have the opportunity to move away from a head coaching tenure marred by media squabbles and toward one that hardly satisfies the media requirement at all. Bill Belichick, the former head coach of the New England Patriots, is on the market and could end up in Atlanta. The Falcons, on the other hand, have just fired coach Arthur Smith, whose offenses underperformed and whose young quarterback underperformed. Would Belichick, who benched quarterback Mac Jones on many occasions this season, be able to resolve the previous administration’s main issue?
Belichick’s greatness is unarguable, but his validity for a team poised to acquire a young quarterback may be. Especially if he employs Josh McDaniels, the former head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders and a long-time Patriots coach, as his offensive coordinator. People are divided when it comes to Belichick, whose career isn’t complete without six Super Bowl titles in New England and nearly as many scandals.

“Belichick would inherit a talented defense in Atlanta and an offense with better weaponry than his Patriots employ, but with a similarly problematic quarterback situation,” wrote ESPN’s Mike Sando. “… But if Falcons ownership expects Belichick and his presumed offensive coordinator, Josh McDaniels, to find a long-term quarterback, that could be problematic.” Neither Belichick nor McDaniels have a solid track record of grooming young quarterbacks to replace or mimic Tom Brady. A free-agent passer, on the other hand, may be able to remedy this problem right away. Is a Belichick Band-Aid exactly what this franchise requires? John Middlekauff was upbeat. “To me, he’s a valuable candidate if you pair him back with Josh McDaniels,” he remarked. “If the elite defensive mind, and the guy that knows how to do everything at the head seat of the table, has his offensive coordinator when he’s the defensive guy, I’m all in.”

McDaniels most recently failed in Las Vegas, being fired in the middle of the season, though many attribute his problems to interpersonal abilities more than the offense itself, which also struggled. On his own merits, Belichick is certainly the best choice available. His credentials are unrivaled, and his demeanor is markedly different from Smith’s, for better or ill. However, with McDaniels on board, Atlanta will be forced to address concerns about itself and its objectives before making the hire.
