INJURY REPORT: Green Bay Packers Cornerback Jaire Alexander and 10 players are on Injury

GREEN BAY, Wisconsin: The Green Bay Packers did not practice on Tuesday due to their tight turnaround for their playoff game against the San Francisco 49ers on Saturday night. Cornerback Jaire Alexander’s participation would have been restricted if they had practiced. That is significant. After rolling his ankle during practice the previous week, Alexander recovered to play a key part in the Packers’ playoff triumph over the Dallas Cowboys, including a crucial interception in the first quarter that helped the team take an early 14-0 lead. However, with just five minutes left in the third quarter, he turned his ankle while advancing to make a tackle. The reason Alexander did not play again had nothing to do with the overwhelming score. On Monday, head coach Matt LaFleur stated, “I don’t think he would have gone back in, but I don’t know.” We’ll find out more throughout the course of the week, and since he’s a valuable member of our team, hopefully he’ll be able to participate. And it was impressive to watch him perform as well as he did in such a big game.

LaFleur listed 15 players as injured on his weekly injury report. This includes Kingsley Enagbare, the outside linebacker, who had a serious knee injury toward the end of the game. Against the Cowboys, he recorded a team-high two quarterback hits. “I am incredibly impressed with him; his improvement from the previous season to this one, his defense-oriented play style and his unwavering pursuit of the ball, are all things I find admirable,” LaFleur remarked. “That game has several instances of the physicality we advocate, the hustle to the ball.” According to LaFleur, Enagbare was receiving support from the other outside linebackers on the squad and position coach Jason Rebrovich in order to manage his physical and emotional suffering.

His position is certainly incredibly disappointing for both him and our football squad. Rashan Gary and Preston Smith play together on the field until being replaced by Enagbare and first-round pick Lukas Van Ness, as the Packers frequently rotate their outside linebackers in pairs. Brenton Cox is the next guy up in the absence of Enagbare. With four defensive snaps and nine special team snaps in four games, the undrafted rookie has seen action. His final game took place on Thanksgiving in Detroit, and he played his final defensive snaps in Week 6 in Denver.
