BREAKING NEWS: To be the best offensive coordinator in the NFL, the Falcons have tough competition.

Raheem Morris has been hired as head coach by the Falcons, and his duties start right away.

Finding a quarterback is the primary responsibility this offseason; this isn’t a band-aid solution, as Atlanta has done the last two seasons. Finding a signal caller would be the offseason’s first priority, regardless of who was hired.

Since 2020—including Matt Ryan’s final season in Atlanta—the Falcons have struggled with the position. Despite all of his flaws, Arthur Smith’s quarterbacking was never above average while he was head coach. A Desmond Ridder-led football squad could not have had a great season if Raheem Morris, or God, had done so.

Nevertheless, Smith was the one who introduced Ridder to the public as the team’s future quarterback. That’s his fault. It doesn’t alter the Falcons’ current situation. Raheem Morris won’t be successful with the quarterbacks on the roster right now.

Apart from that, Raheem Morris’s choice of offensive coordinator this offseason is the second most crucial one. Morris’s contacts and connections with coaches and players are among his most attractive qualities as a potential head coach. That is going to be tested right now.

The Falcons appear to have an advantage over other interested clubs since Zac Robinson, the leading contender for offensive coordinator in the NFL, worked with Morris for a few seasons in Los Angeles under Sean McVay. Still, there will be fierce competition.

The Buccaneers, Saints, Steelers, Patriots, and Raiders are all actively interested in Robinson; therefore, the Falcons could want to move swiftly to secure an interview with the Rams’ pass game coordinator and quarterback coach.
While calling plays for preseason games, Robinson has never done so during the regular season, much like every other subordinate under McVay and Kyle Shanahan. Furthermore, during the previous two seasons, he has played a significant role in the Rams’ passing game.

After attending Oklahoma State from 2005 to 2009, the Colorado native entered the NFL as a seventh-round selection and was initially selected by the Patriots. He later played four seasons with the Seahawks, Lions, and Bengals.

This season’s Rams triumph, which included Matthew Stafford’s comeback and Puka Nacua’s rise through the air, should be mostly attributable to Robinson. He will have plenty of mobility, a dynamic shotgun throwing game, and a versatile play-action game from under centre that is based on an outside zone run game if he joins Morris in Atlanta.

The Falcons aren’t the only team after Zac Robinson; in the absence of a quarterback, Raheem Morris’ connection with him and the team’s potent offensive line, which includes Kyle Pitts, Drake London, and Bijan Robinson, will need to be the selling points.
