BREAKING NEWS: Auburn Tigers fans and Players lament amid losing an important key staff member

An significant staff member has left the Auburn Tigers.

Over the past few weeks, Auburn has been replenishing their coaching staff in the wake of the departures of two coordinators and one or two position coaches. Gus Malzahn and the UCF Knights have now claimed the services of another employee, Trovon Reed, the director of football and recruiting relations.

He will join the Knights as their cornerbacks coach and take up a new role on the field.

Auburn assistant Trovon Reed hired as UCF corner backs coach

A month ago, Reed stated of the Tigers, “It’s a new day for Auburn.” “We don’t feel scared. We’ll engage in competition. Additionally, we will be competing on that field. We’re on our way. We’re coming in recruiting and doing everything that goes along with it, not just on the field.”

Reed left Auburn in the offseason with the possibility of earning a spot on the field, but he is now at UCF. Before playing in the AAF for one season and the XFL for another, Reed played in the NFL for eight seasons with five different teams.

Prior to being elevated to the position of director of football and player relations in 2021, Reed was employed as a coordinator of player relations.

Football: Ron Roberts among most interesting coordinator hires

Ron Roberts, the defensive coordinator, left Auburn for the Florida Gators, while Zac Etheridge, the safeties coach, went to the Houston Cougars. Charles Kelly, a recent hire, is anticipated to take on both positions. Throughout his tenure with the Alabama Crimson Tide, Kelly was universally recognized as one of the top recruiters in the nation.

Since the Tigers are still looking for a co-defensive coordinator to work with Kelly, it is unclear where they will go to complete their staff.
